Leigh began her yoga practice 9 years ago where at first she was drawn to the challenge of inversions and arm balances. As an avid runner and someone who enjoyed high intensity interval training, yoga was surprisingly challenging in other ways. Unlike fast paced running, committing to a pose like an inversion which requires getting upside down, and then moving in a slow controlled way was new territory for Leigh. Moving with intention and learning how to control the breath also did wonders for Leigh’s acute anxiety. The initial desire to try a new “work out” began to have a profound and positive impact on her life. As Leigh began to realize that yoga was more of a “work in” than a work out, she was eager to share this new-found moving meditation with others.
